What does it mean for a dog food to be "All Life Stages"? Does our “recipe” meet that requirement?
An "All Life Stages" diet means the food meets the minimum nutritional standards established by AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) to support growth, reproduction, and maintenance in dogs—from puppies to seniors. It’s a regulatory term used in commercial pet foods, not a guarantee of ideal nutrition for every dog at every age.
But here’s the catch…
“Meeting standards” isn’t the same as being optimal.
Most commercial “all life stages” diets are designed for the highest common denominator—often growing puppies. That means higher calories, higher calcium, and other nutrients that might not be appropriate for adult dogs with slower metabolisms, senior dogs with organ decline, or dogs with chronic health issues.
Does our nutrition course meet the needs of All Life Stages?
Yes—but better.
Our course teaches you how to create balanced, customized fresh food recipes that can be adjusted for:
Puppies (with attention to growth requirements and calcium-to-phosphorus ratios)
Adults (maintenance and ideal body condition)
Seniors (with organ support, lower inflammation, and easy-to-digest nutrients)
Dogs with chronic health issues should have customized diets. We won’t cover that in depth here — but do have guides available for each primary condition for you to consider in your feeding protocols.
We don't rely on "one-size-fits-all" labels. Instead, we teach you how to build and adjust meals so your dog gets what they need—right now, at their life stage, with their unique needs in mind.
That’s far beyond just meeting AAFCO’s baseline.
