Training & Behavior: Building the Foundation for a Healthy Life
My journey with dogs didn’t start with nutrition or wellness — it started with training. It led to a passion in complex behavioral issues — and everything changed.
Years ago, I was deep in the world of dog training, helping pet parents build better relationships through clear communication, positive reinforcement, and understanding what their dogs were really trying to say. As time went on, I realized something big: you can’t separate behavior from health. Stress, poor nutrition, gut issues, and even toxic overload were often hiding underneath the surface of the “bad” behavior I was called to fix.
Today, I blend my background in training and behavior with a deep focus on nutrition, wellness, and emotional health, because the truth is — a thriving dog needs support in every area, not just one.
If you're here to understand your dog better, prevent behavior problems, or heal challenges at the root, you’re in the right place.
Are You Being Fair To Your Dog
Are you being fair to your dog? Do you respect what your dog likes, dislikes, and is capable of. Do you protect him from visitors? Push to far too fast.
Waiting On The Breakthrough
The walk isn’t the exercise. The state of mind is. Fix the state of mind before you start trying to take a walk.
Checking Pee-Mail
Should you allow your dog to sniff and stroll on your walk…. Yes, with some conditions.
Embrace Instincts of the Breed
Breed Instincts need to be part of your enrichment activities and behavior resolution
You Don't Get To Choose What Your Dog Needs
You don’t get to choose what your dog’s need. You can only choose to give him what he needs.
A New Normal
Training doesn’t have to be time set aside on the schedule. Make it part of your normal daily activities.
Close The Concession Stand
When your dog thinks he’s the head dog in charge — stop making concessions for him.
Separation Anxiety Transitions
Separation Anxiety may be situational and may be triggered by yet another transition, from one home to another.
He's Never Done That Before
Every day, dog owners are caught by surprise at their dog’s behavior. Learn to read your dog.
Structure Leadership and the Family Dog
When the family is disrupted by your dog’s behavior, the first thing to look at is YOUR behavior. Have you implemented enough of the basic rules and expectations to teach the dog to follow leadership rather than to take the lead. The little things you change and hold consistent make a huge difference in how the dog sees his role and your leadership.
