What Are Homeopathic Aggravations
Homeopathic aggravations refer to the temporary worsening of symptoms that can occur when starting homeopathic treatment. According to homeopathy, this worsening of symptoms is thought to be a sign that the body is responding to the remedy and starting to heal. Homeopathic practitioners believe that this temporary worsening of symptoms is a sign that the remedy is working and that the person's healing process is being stimulated.
Homeopathic aggravations are thought to occur in the early stages of treatment, and they can last for a few days to a few weeks. They can include an increase in symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, or irritability, or the return of old symptoms that had previously been resolved.
Sometimes a daily dose of low potency can create a significant aggravation. This is fairly rare, but when it does happen, it is good to repeat the remedy in water after waiting for the aggravation to subside. For this sensitive person having them repeat the remedy in water or even sniffing will be enough to maintain the vital force response. Do not go back to a routine of the daily dose until there is no evidence of aggravation or support. When the person is not supported with the infrequent dose, then start them on the daily dose again. Usually, it will be okay to repeat this often.
