Kuranda Raised Cots

Kuranda cots have earned their place in shelters, training facilities, and homes alike. Known for their strength and longevity, these are the ones that can hold up to constant use by power chewers, diggers, or large-breed dogs.

  • Made in the USA with durable, chew-resistant frames

  • Multiple fabric options, including vinyl and Cordura, that are easy to clean

  • Raised design helps reduce pressure on joints

  • Indoor and outdoor options

  • Often used in kennel setups because they last years, even with heavy use

They’re a bit more of an investment, but in my experience, Kuranda beds more than pay for themselves over time. If you’ve got a large dog, a determined chewer, or need something that will hold up long-term, Kuranda is the gold standard.

Veehoo Raised Cots

Veehoo cots are a great budget-friendly option for everyday use, especially for pet parents working on training at home or looking for something lightweight and portable.

  • Lightweight and easy to move from room to room

  • Mesh fabric for airflow and easy cleaning

  • Slip-resistant feet to help it stay in place on tile or hardwood floors

  • Great for travel or rotating between indoor/outdoor spaces

  • Several color options for those who like things to match their decor

While they may not hold up to extreme chewers the way Kuranda does, Veehoo raised beds are great for everyday use, especially for calm dogs or those still learning the “place” behavior.

Why Raised Cots Work So Well for Training

Because they create a defined “zone,” raised cots are an excellent tool for teaching your dog to relax in a set location — whether you’re working on impulse control, reactivity, or just giving them a job to do while guests arrive. They help dogs see their boundary — and that visual makes all the difference.

I’ve used both in different scenarios and for different dogs, and they’ve become part of my long-term recommendations for training success.
