HPP ISHigh Pressure Pasteurized Meat For Dogs

High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP) processed meat, is aka sterilized meat. But is it raw?

No. It is not raw. Well, it certainly looks raw, you might think.

High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP) is the industry-standard pathogen control method, recommended to keep harmful bacteria at bay so that you and your pets can be safe.

High Pressure Processed or HPP which is a cold pasteurization technique by which products, already sealed in its final package, are introduced into a vessel and subjected to a high level of isostatic pressure transmitted by water. Wrapped in plastic packaging, it's subjected to extreme pressures in order to kill pathogens.

Once this process is used, food cannot be considered raw.

HPP upsets the microbial balance of foods by damaging both pathogens and probiotics alike, leaving no protection against further contamination. High Pressure pasteurization depletes and irreversibly denatures and strips away naturally-occurring proteins, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and beneficial bacteria.

HIGH-PRESSURE PASTEURIZATION Dog Food

In an effort to give you the best of both worlds, a healthy raw food diet without the fear of Salmonella, one solution is High-Pressure Pasteurization (HPP.) However, the process of putting raw food through a high-pressure environment may kill the Salmonella, but it will also change the chemical makeup of the meat.

The reason for raw food diets is to reap the benefits that organic, locally sourced, raw meats provide your pets. Unfortunately, all of those good elements of raw food are also compromised during HPP.

ENZYMES, PROTEINS, AND FLAVOR
All the wonderful enzymes and proteins that we provide our pets with a raw food diet could be rendered moot after being exposed to an HPP environment. Even the flavor of the food could be compromised. HPP may prevent Salmonella, but if it also takes away many of the food benefits, then the downside greatly outweighs the benefits.

In contrast, Volhard Dog Nutrition uses the process of cold dehydration which leaves the human-grade, non GMO, farm fresh whole ingredients without moisture but completely raw. This allows living enzymes to thrive and nourish your dog's body as intended.

Volhard Dog Nutrition also assay tests every small batch of food 3 times for salmonella, E.Coli, mold and fungus. Yes 3 times!! This food could not be safer. You add the fresh meat - not processed meat- eliminating a multitude of risks of pathogens.

Volhard Dog Nutrition diets will not be contained in plastic as plastic leaches toxins into food. Aside from daily conditions, imagine what plastic must do if subjected to extreme pressures with food incapsulated?

Volhard Dog Nutrition diets are easily portable so they do not hinder an active outdoor lifestyle. They can be kept cool and refrigerated upon opening. Just add the protein of your choice, water to rehydrate and you are done!

This is the Volhard difference from the market's "raw" foods.
