Can My Dog Eat Bananas

Yes — in moderation as an occasional snack. Of course, we know that bananas are rich in potassium, but did you also know they are a good prebiotic? They are also good sources of manganese, vitamin B6, vitamin C, fiber, biotin, and copper.  Bananas are low in sodium and cholesterol.

You may also not know that green bananas can be beneficial to your dog’s digestive system. Yes, green. As in not ripe.

Green Bananas are ow in sugar and high in pectin. They also are rich in prebiotics and may help regulate sugar in the body.

Be sure to peel them and use only a small amount as an occasional treat since they have a fair amount of natural sugar. Include ripened bananas in your homemade dog treat!

Freeze sliced bananas or a small portion for cool summer treat!
