Giving Bone Broth To Dogs

Bone broth offers several health benefits for dogs. It is rich in essential nutrients and minerals that promote overall health and well-being. The broth contains collagen, which supports joint health, aids in cartilage repair, and reduces inflammation, making it particularly beneficial for senior dogs or those with joint issues. Additionally, bone broth is packed with amino acids that aid in muscle repair and contribute to a healthy coat and skin. The gelatin present in bone broth also helps improve digestion by soothing and healing the gastrointestinal tract, making it an ideal option for dogs with sensitive stomachs or those recovering from digestive upset, diarrhea, illness, or surgery. It’s also an added boost of nutrition to our senior dogs without having to add a lot more volume or supplements to the bowl. Broth can entice finicky eaters to consume their meals, ensuring they receive the necessary nutrients to thrive or recover.

Bone Broth is NOT the same as stock or the liquid you’d have from boiling meat. While those are great for flavor — it does not have the same nutrient profile. Bone broth will add so many healthy nutrients, boost your dog’s immunity, keep them hydrated, and help keep inflammation down.

If you are purchasing bone broth from a retailer, please ensure it contains no onions or other ingredients that may be unsafe for dogs to consume. Always read the labels.
