Traveling With Volhard

Traveling With Raw Dog Food

It’s very easy to travel with raw dog foods, especially Volhard!

Option 1 :
If I’m gone for just a few days, I premix my NDF2 (or AM/PM or Rescue) with meat and water in individual zippy bags in the right portion. for 1 meal. Flatten them out and freeze. When you leave the house, pop them in a cooler with ice and go. Some of the new coolers will keep ice frozen up to 5 days!

Thaw out a few hours before each meal. If necessary, soak the zippy back in some warm water in your hotel sink!

Request a small fridge in your hotel if needed.

Option 2:
Take your mix in a small zippy bag or container and a couple cans of sardines or mackeral, a pouch or two of salmon. Mix with hot water wherever you are!

Boarding Your Dog With Volhard

And do the same for your pet sitter or boarding facility. Just portion the meat and mix into an individual zippy per meal and ask them to add the hot water. If you’re gone more than a couple of days, put the zippies in the freezer until they need to pull them out to thaw.

In the case of the vet and kennel that resist feeding raw — just cook the meat for this period. Easy.

I have some clients that feed a fully prepared RAW diet and just use the NDF when they travel. So it’s super easy!
