Hydrolyzed proteins are intact proteins that have been chemically pulverized into smaller pieces to avoid stimulating the immune system of pets with gastrointestinal issues

  • Poultry byproduct meal consists of the ground, rendered, clean parts of the carcasses of slaughtered poultry, such as necks, feet, undeveloped eggs, and intestines, exclusive of feathers

  • Your best bet is to avoid ultraprocessed diets containing poor quality ingredients in favor of a biologically appropriate diet of raw or minimally processed whole, real foods with a macronutrient profile that mimics an ancestral diet

Hydrolyzed Proteins are often recommended by Veterinarian in prescription diets for dogs with allergic conditions.

Hydrolyzed Proteins are not recommended.

Hydrolyzed Protein is often soy and chicken feathers — say no to this. If your dog has allergies let’s find another way.

Hydrolyzed protein is processed high heat temperatures, either by water or chemical hydrolysis. The intent is to break proteins down into their constituent parts, so small that they would not invoke a reaction.

These foods are nutritionally deficient, expensive, and in most cases are area shown NOT to work for the intended purpose only around 50% of the time.
