I put a cereal keeper of mix in the refrigerator and put the remainder of my bag in the freezer.

No room in the freezer either? It’s OK!
It’s best to put the opened products in the refrigerator., but if you cannot ….. Seal your bag of the mix as best you can. And put it in your pantry (temperature-controlled space). If your dog consumes the full bag within a few weeks, there should be no worry. (Trust me I have done it myself before I bought my chest freezer)

If you’re going to go several months without using the opened bag, then you might want to explore other options for refrigeration.

Unopened bags of mix, if you buy in bulk or shops the sales will last in your pantry unopened for up to a year!
