The Flavors Of NDF2

In 2020, Volhard Dog Nutrition announced two new NDF2 flavors. Technically it’s the source of the liver that changed. Original NDF2 contained Chicken Liver. Now we have new options for Pork Liver or Beef Liver.

This is especially awesome for those dogs who have allergies and inflammatory condition with chicken.

As reminder, offal (organ meat) is important to the canine diet and introduces a number of important nutrients. Organ meats are quite high in vitamins and minerals. Our canine diets can (and should) include Offal up to 10% of the total diet — 1/2 of that (or 5%) can be liver.

It’s important to get quality meats, and typically younger animals are better sources of offal / liver as they will not have been exposed to as many environmental toxins themselves that the liver would have had to process.

We like the ability to rotate protein sources and now offal sources! Rotation and variety is great for your dog to get their nutrients from different animal sources.

Having these options also allows us to be more specific when necessary for the 5-Element Theory.

You won’t see a visible change in the look of the product. But your dog will enjoy the variety.

Good nutrition matters!

I also still use a few dehydrated liver treats throughout the week.
